Our overloaded storage unit!
You just don't know how much stuff you own until you move. It's even more daunting when you move two peoples' stuff into one home!
Between Ed's things and mine, my little house just can't take it all in, literally! We plan to have a huge yardsale as soon as the monsoon rains stop, or at least pause, but meanwhile we had to rent a storage unit for the overflow.
Sometimes you have to make a mess to clean up a mess.
We did spend a couple of days unifying our furniture into a nicer living room. We hauled off my junky couch and brought in Ed's sofa and loveseat, as well as his end tables and coffee table. Ed made repairs to the old entertainment center and we pulled out everything to dust and vaccum every inch until the room was spotless.
The finished product!
The living room is very small and I wasn't sure how well it would all fit, but in the end I think it came out quite well. It has a cozy, comfy feel when we all sit there together.
Ed left this morning for Cheyenne, where he'll join his former Boy Scout troop (he was their assistant Scoutmaster) on their week-long Scout camp in Bear Lake, Utah. After helping them prepare all year for this event, he wanted to finish it out with his boys. As for me, for these next two weeks I'll miss cuddling on the couch and watching movies together!
Jacob, age 19, poses for his missionary application picture.
On a side note, tonight Jacob finally finished his paperwork to apply to serve a mission for our church! All the forms are filled out, the pictures are attached, the checklists are checked, and the documents are printed out. It's quite a lengthy process. All that's left to do are visits to the doctor and dentist, which we'll schedule tomorrow morning. Once those are completed, we can electronically transmit the paperwork to Salt Lake City for processing. We are all very excited!

I really like the look of the new couches in our living room. The color looks perfect. Ed has good taste.
Such exciting times ahead for your family with Jacob getting ready for his mission call!!!! What a blessing to all of you.
