Small World

We had dinner guests tonight!

Derrick and Joy with their little boys.

I'm always amazed by life's little coincidences.  First, in July of last year I made reservations at the WorldMark resort in Estes Park, Colorado, never suspecting that I'd be married by the time we took that vacation trip, or that my future husband lived just 2 hours away from Estes Park.

Then 2 weeks ago, at the end of our stay in Estes Park, we attended church at Ed's old ward in Cheyenne.  While there, he found out that a young family in his ward was also planning a vacation at a WorldMark resort...right here in Pinetop!  It just so happened that Derrick, the husband/father of the family, was one of the men who helped us move Ed's stuff out of his apartment and load it into the trailer to be transported to Arizona.

Their older son clings to Sarah's bunny, 8-year-old Cocoa Puff!

Today, Derrick and Joy and their two sweet little boys attended church with us, then came over for dinner and an evening of visiting.  Ed outdid himself with a small feast to delight the tastebuds.  We had a wonderful time and we were sorry to see them go at the end of the night.  It truly is a small world, after all!

What a sweet "coincidence." A man in our ward, who I very much admire, gave a talk recently in Sac meeting and with tears in his voice said, "I have lost my confidence in coincidences. I no longer believe in them." The older I get the less I believe in them, too.

So please tell us, what Ed made for dinner?

Ed grilled chicken thighs and breasts and made a big green salad, green beans, and mac and cheese for the kiddies.

I still believe in coincidences but, more often than not, I think they are actually events orchestrated by Heavenly Father to bring about His purposes. So it's all good!
